Whenever we receive a call from a potential customer about starting recurring shredding service, it is always met with joy because it says people understand the importance of the service and they want the service. In any service industry, we are sure there is no more joyous moment than when someone wants your service.

Recently, a call for recurring service was preceded by a question from a former customer who had used us for a purge service but had not reached the stage of moving toward recurring service. However, the question was “Do we repair shredders?” Of course, the answer was no but a few days later someone from the same organization called and said “…you tried to encourage us to use an ongoing shredding service but we were not prepared to do so at that time. Please bring me containers and whatever documents we will need to start the process of recurring monthly shredding service.” Reportedly, the company that repaired their “industrial shredders” was no longer in business and a new company’s estimate (with layers of complex billing fees) was more than they could bear. Interestingly, the response to our estimate for monthly on-site shredding service was “That’s reasonable. I can’t believe that is all we have to pay.”

A recurring shredding service is more secure, economical and convenient than in-house shredding. Staff time is more valuable than standing around feeding an office shredder or “industrial shredder.” The office “industrial shredder” might be bigger than your regular office shredder but it still needs to be hand-fed. There is also no more worrying about the cost to maintain a shredder.
